-In All Your Ways-

What is the key to making great decisions? Most people would agree that having the right information is crucial to making decisions. But while information is very important, it is not the most critical factor in guaranteeing you make the right choice. In fact, if you think about, you know some really smart people who have made really dumb decisions. So what is? This week we focused on something that is even more important than information when it comes to choosing your path – God, Himself.

Ice-Breakers:

  • Share a time in your life when you witnessed a smart person making a dumb decision.

  • Share a time when you made a decision that made you question your IQ.

Questions:

  1. Read Proverbs 3:5. Why does it make sense to trust God over your own judgment?

  2. What are some of the reasons why we lean on our own understanding to make decisions, rather than trust God with them?

  3. Read Proverbs 3:6. Submission precedes direction. When we acknowledge God, he clears the path before us. When have you submitted a decision before God? How did it turn out?

  4. Read Proverbs 3:7. What are the dangers of pride? When have you seen pride lead to poor decisions?

  5. What is a big decision that you are facing? How can you trust God with it?

Application:

Are you acknowledging God in all your ways? It is easy for us to trust God with the things we can't control (our health, the future, etc.), but often difficult for us to trust God with the areas that we feel some control over (our finances, career, etc.).

  • What is an area that you are holding on to?

  • In the coming week, how will you acknowledge God in this area?
